Just stumbled across this...

The Gorillaz are well known for the remarkable 3D artwork that features in their video clips, now comes an interesting move from Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. They have taken their short films and turned them into something of mass proportions for the BBC, having produced a traler promoting the BBC's coverage of the Beijing Olympics, based on the Chinese folk tale Monkey King twisting the tale of the classical Chinese novel "Journey to the West", turning it into a "Journey to the East".

No idea if it delivered the goods, but I love how Albarn and Hewlett try to fuse animation with real environments. Let's hope there will be a third Gorillaz album and lots of fresh short movies... :)
